Well, I decided to take some time out of my remaining time to post something and keep the site alive. I shudder as I count down the last 45... 44 minutes of time before this break comes to an end and we shall return to school.
Heroes of Newerth is a rather interesting game that, in case you don't know, is basically exactly like DotA from Warcraft III. It has many of the same heroes, but also adds in a few new characters to the game. It runs much nicer, the interface, even though I've heard otherwise, is relatively nice once you get used to it, and the graphics are far better.
New Heroes, old heroes, what else could you want?
Yes, the game integrated all your favorite heroes from DotA and even handed you a few extra. The did leave some heroes out of the addition (like Sniper), but it's still good. Pudge, Juggernaut, Clinkz... these heroes and so many more came back, some with different skills and more interesting setups.
If you're looking to play DotA, just play this
This game far exceeds what DotA accomplished and is certainly better. It may be opinion, but if you're a DotA fan, you may as well just play this. There are so many more features. The additions that they've incorporated into the game are extremely useful.
Banlist? It's part of the game
Tired of starting up, maintaining, uploading your ban list playing DotA? Don't worry about it. Banlist is incorporated into the game. Ban those scrubs away!
Ventrillo?
You don't need it, the game has it's own voice chat system so you don't have to talk in vent. The downside to this however, is that some people experience problems with vent and can't talk in vent while in the game.
The light! It burns!
The graphics are sometimes so intense that you literally can't do much. If this is your first time playing, you will be blinded, and you will lose track of what's going on. It's easy to lose focus and then completely get wiped.
What does this button do?
It truley is confusing. At first, you will be so lost and so confused. Be sure to explore the interface so that you feel comfortable with it.
In general, this hit's noobies hard.
Everything in this game is anti-noob friendly. Noobs, chances are, will have no idea what's going on or who's doing what. It could, at times, be overwhelming, so tread carefully.
